Day 2- Fall Clothes/ Trends/ Makeup

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

Although I love fashion and love looking at new trends for different seasons I do not buy new clothes every season. My budget just doesn't have much room for new clothes right now. Most of my clothes in my closet are timeless pieces. I am a
t-shirt, jeans and flip flop kind of girl. I also live in Florida so our weather doesn't cool down much between summer in fall.

This fall I am really liking navy, grays, oranges and reds. As far as makeup goes I don't change it up. I might wear eye Shadow more often but other than that nothing new there.

Day 1 - Fall Traditions

I have decided to do a Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge with Neely and Amber!!
Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

McHunny and I don't really have any fall traditions. I would like to start some traditions for us but only have two ideas.
To go to a pumpkin patch pick out pumpkins and carve them, maybe have a contest who can carve the best.
Another idea is to go to a local corn maze, every year I hear about people going to corn mazes but we have yet to go. I wounder if they allow dogs cause that would be so fun for our little family to do together.

Green with Envy

I have always admired others lifestyles but as of lately I have been so jealous of what others have. I do not really understand because life has been great lately. I have an amazing husband that loves me, great family and friends and a job. Even if its not a job I love its a job at this point.

I think the envy is because people all around me are buying homes, landing their dream jobs and starting families. Now Im not ready to start a family but I am soooooooooo ready for my hubby to land his dream job so then we can save up for a house:) McHunny has been job hunting and he has testing with a fire department coming up. We are praying he gets this job. Please pray for him.

I have been praying as of today about me enving others because today I realized it is becoming a problem and I need to get over it. I believe it is ok to want or even wish what others have but to not want to speak to a person because of my envy is a huge issue in my eyes. I'm sure this will pass but for now I am trying to focus on what good things I do have in my life and there are many that I am thankful for.

Frogs and Snakes

McHunny and I live in an apartment complex backed up to a retention pond and when it rains the frogs come up to play. Some are the cute little green frogs while others are the big ugly toads either way Seamus wants to eat them all. He has not been successful with getting any frogs but he tries. Tonight while I was walking him there were 2 huge toads that were jumping around everywhere (I wanted to scream like a little girl) and Seamus was pulling me every which way to try to get them. One day I should let him just play with them but I heard the big toad are poisonous so maybe he can play with the cute little green frogs. Speaking of the cute little green frogs a few months ago there were babies everywhere, I am talking about hundreds and maybe even thousands of little tiny frogs all over the fences and on the apartment building. I tried to take pictures to share with you guys but it was so humid my lenses were fogging up. Anyway I was so fascinated with these little creatures I watched them for quite awhile. I think frogs are cute from afar but when they get close I am out like shout ;)

There have also been an abundance of green garden snakes that like to come up from the retention pond and play around our apartment. While walking Seamus the other day there was a good size snake possibly 3 feet and it took all my might for Seamus not to attack it. I could not get his attention he was so focused on the snake. He is so fascinated with anything that moves and that he could possibly chase. Thank goodness I can over power Seamus since he is only 55 lbs but at times its hard.

Its kind of neat to see these creatures out and about sometimes make me appreciate nature...well from afar that is...

Im a dreamer...

I spend hours online browsing looking at homes, places to travel, expensive clothing, and just anything that catches my eye. Sometimes I get so caught up in my day dreaming the time just passes by but I love day dreaming. I guess its my escape right now...sometimes I read or workout to escape but right now its just browsing the internet. I think another reason is because of pinterest, Im so addicted to adding new things everyday. Even before I was turned on to pinterest I just find myself dreaming.

love this...

I was browsing quotes and found this one...

What is quote that you just love??

Final week of summer class

I have taken many summer classes throughout my college career but this summer class has seriously been kicking my booty. I am thinking my professor thinks we have nothing else to do besides read the stupid chapters and write summaries about them...what is the point?? Worst professor ever!! There is no interaction in this class once so ever and professor NEVER answers emails. Anywho thank god this is the last week and my final is due Friday at midight then its OVER. I have seriously lost sleep over this class cause Im stressing about how many words I have to write. Speaking of words am I in Middle school again??? Anywho thanks for reading my rant!

I will try to get back next week and actually post more often :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

My weekend was filled with homework...blahh how I hate thee! Luckily I was able to get out of the house a few times this weekend. Mostly because my husband does not understand what "hunny I've got homework to do" means but I just stayed up super late so I could some what enjoy my weekend.

Saturday I started the day with homework and then met my best friend Jenny for lunch at the Blakely House. Its an historic home that has been turned into a bakery and cafe. It also has a boutique in the cafe and upstairs is a spa. I will definitely go again I their summer salad which I was disappointed because it was boring but it was fresh and next time I will be sure to order what Jenny ordered. Jenny had chicken salad over lettuce and it looked so good I was totally jealous the whole time we were eating.

On Saturdays they have buy one get one free on cupcakes so we each had one. I got choosy mom's choose me it was delicious, chocolate cake with a peanut butter frosting so yummy. Jenny had summer lovin' which was vanilla cake with blueberries and butter cream icing (it didnt look as good as mine ;)) We sat there for about 2 hour catching up since we haven't seen each other in a few months.

After I got home I did a few more hours of homework...boring...then Josh got home around 5:30 so we decided to get a quick bite at Moe's and go see Transformers 3. It was great just as good as the rest but it was too long. My back was killing me after sitting in those seats for almost 3 hours. To end our night we went to a new frozen yogurt shop called My Mochi and wow is it the best thing ever!!!! It is self serve frozen yogurt and you have like 10 flavors to choose from then you go and put any topping you want yourself. I got 2 different types of yogurt half strawberry and half coco-nilla and my toppings were pineapple, mango, kiwi and mini chocolate chips!! Josh got original yogurt and his toppings were captian crunch, peanut butter cups, butter finger, rice crispy treats, caramel and honestly who knows what else :) We feel in love with My Mochi!! I was so yummy and everything was clean and so fresh there. We loved it so much we went back Sunday :) I keep forgetting to take a pic of my concoction but I will try to remember next time we go!

Sunday was pretty much a homework day. I did homework all day except for a few breaks here and there and when I made Josh and I an amazing Sunday dinner. I baked a whole chicken, made homemade smashed potatoes, and some fiesta corn...it was def a yummy dinner and after dinner I was able to convince Josh to go back to My Mochi :)

Did anybody do anything fun or interesting this weekend??

I haven't update on Seamus in awhile. He no longer has heart-worms and he is able to resume high energy activity!! Hubs and I have so much fun with Seamus taking him on runs/walks and to the dog park.

He is spoiled rotten!!!! At first we would not let him on the couches cause they were new and the vet told us its not a good idea. I guess dogs get this idea that they are on the same level or equal to humans when they are allowed on couches and beds. Whelp we don't really have in behavior problems, I mean minor ones here and there but nothing major.

We are having issues with him passing gas all the time and it smells AWFUL!! Lately his tummy has been giving him issues so we are changing dog food this week and hopefully it will help. I'm also kind of excited to change cause this food isn't as expensive but suppose to be better for digestive problems. Right now he is on Blue Buffalo which is supposedly one of the best foods but he A. doesn't like it and B. Makes him very gassy. I have done my research so we are going to put him on Natures Choice easy to digest. I have heard great reviews.

We also have a problem with shedding and hotspots so we also think the food might have something to do with it. All the reviews for Natures Choice said their dogs coat didn't shed as much and didn't get hot spots as often. I guess we shall see.

This post is picture heavy but Seamus is our fur-baby and I just want to show him off!

There is a huge coupon craze going on lately...I've gotten sucked up into it and so has my sister. Most of our conversations lately have been about the great deals we have gotten or just about what coupons and deals are out there.

I think with this economy we have to start spending and saving our money wisely. Now sister and I are not trying to be like those women on the TV show extreme coupons cause lets face it we do not have time for all that. My objective is to save a few bucks here and there and maybe get some free things as well.

My best deal yet was on Bic disposable razors!!! I was able to get 4 four packs of razors for FREE plus $1 overage...oooohhh yeah!! I have also gotten my hubs deodorant for about $1 a piece instead of $3.89. Just the little things in life can make me happy and getting a good deal is one of those little things :)

There are coupon classes offered around my area and I'm thinking about taking a class to learn more about couponing but I haven't decided yet.

Have any of you taking couponing class? If so how was it?

Tell me about one of your best deals with coupons I love hearing about it!

smelly gym clothes...yuck!

Lately my husband has been working out A LOT!! I mean average of 5 hours a day A LOT. His routine is usually combatives for 3 hrs either in the am or pm and then 2 other trips to the gym once for cardio and once for weight lifting. Since he goes at 3 separate times during the day that means he has 3 separate yucky smelly gym outfits per day. Hubs sweats like a pig and it stinks awfully bad...trust me its awful! Well he use to put his smelly gym clothes in the regular basket not thinking anything of it and it would make my nice clothes stink badly. Well now I make him put them in a separate basket in the other room so I dont have to smell them. I wish we had a washer and dryer in our apartment cause I would make him wash them each day but nope that is not the case. So since I am sooooo busy I wash clothes once a week which wow his gym clothes are sour and disgusting after that week. Well last week hubs was complaining how his gym clothes always smelled once they were washed...NO BIG SURPRISE THERE!! Anywho I did a whole lot of research to figure out how to get the smell out of the clothes and I pretty sure I found it...its simple baking soda. Who would have thought something so simple and easy, I thought I was going to have to buy some super expensive magical stuff to get the smell out. I put a half of a box of the baking soda in the washer along with the oxyclean I love so dearly and wooohooo they dont smell as of now. They were just out of the dryer so tomorrow could be another story.

Do any of you have any household tricks you would like to share with me???

On a Firefighting job hunt

Its been awhile since my last post so I figured its time to update.

Currently McHunny and I are on a major job hunt for him. McHunny recently passed his state board to be an EMT so now he can get a job as a Firefighter/EMT! This has been his dream for a very long time now and he has had to jump through many hoops to finally get here. Last week we turned in 3 applications and this week we hope to get 3 more out. Since we are aggressively putting in applications so we hope to have a job by October. Please Pray for us that we get a firefighting job VERY soon.

I have never met someone that wants a career as a firefighter more than my husband and I am so excited that his dream is close to becoming alive of course god willing.

I'll try not to be a stranger ;)

Our new doggy!!!

Husband and I got our first dog together about a week ago!!! We adopted him from the local pound and are so happy we did. He is such a great dog, we named him Seamus (Shay-mus) after one of hubs favorite characters in his favorite book. His name was Buddy but how generic so we changed it. Surprisingly he seems to know his name already cause he answers to it.

Hubs and I had debated about getting him for a few months. Poor dog was at the pound for 4 months. The 1st time we saw him was Dec 30th and fell in love with him but because he has heart worms we were not sure if we were willing to take on that financial burden. We called different vets and got estimates on how expensive it was going to be but it was a tad more than we were willing to spend. We kept talking about how much we wanted Seamus cause we felt a connection with him. I would secretly look on the website to see if he was still at the pound. I was so nervous they were going to destroy him. After talking about it for a few months and debating we decided to adopt him.

Seamus is such a great dog, the first night we didnt expect to get any sleep since he was in a new environment but he slept in his doggy bed all night. Well he woke me up at 5am to go potty but other than that he slept all night. He is a year and 4 months old and is potty trained, doesnt bark, walks on a leash pretty well (we have some work to do) listens to us when we tell him to get out of the kitchen or whatever and crate trained. He seriously is better than I could have imagined. God truly blessed us with such an amazing dog and hubs and I plan on being the best doggy parents we can be. Seamus is our baby and love him like a child already.

I will post more pics soon.

Operation get Buff :)

I am finally at a weight I am happy with and now its time for me to tone this flabby body. I dont care to have a six pack (if I get a six pack I wont complain) I just want a flat stomach, a hard non cellulite butt, non jiggly thighs, and nice arms. Operation get Buff started yesterday with a 30 minute functional training class and the 1.5 miles on the EFX machine. Today consisted of 2.5 miles of the EFX since I am super super sore.

I am eating healthy meals but no so strict that I will never stick with it. Hubs and I also have a side deal. I have always wanted to make working out part of my everyday life but I have yet to be successful. Well I found this bathing suit I wanted and its expensive so he told me that if I hit the gym on an average of 4 days a week for the next 2 month he will buy it for me. Well I want this suit pretty bad so Im gonna make it happen. Here is a pic of the 2 I want...I havent decided which one I want cause I like both equally.

Found here

Let me know what you think about the bathing suits.

Cajun Herb and Garlic Pasta

1.5lb chicken or shrimp
box whole wheat penne pasta
3 clover garlic (chopped)
small onion (chopped)
packet of herb and garlic mix
2 tbsp pesto
2 cups of fresh spinach
2 tbsp EVOO
Cajun seasoning
chili powder
garlic salt
1 tomato (optional)

1. In a large saute pan cook EVOO, onion, and garlic on med high heat for about a minute. While its cooking add a generous amount of cajun seasoning, chili powder, garlic salt and pepper. Add chicken or shrimp to the saute pan and cook until cooked all the way. Use all your seasonings to season the chicken for more flavor. I season heavy so season it how you would normally season your food. After chicken is cooked all the way mix spinach in saute pan and mix together.
2. Mean while boil pasta and make herb and garlic mix as directed. Once the sauce is finished add pesto to sauce and then mix sauce, pasta and chicken mix together. Stir until the pasta is coated in sauce.
3. Cut up tomato and sprinkle some on top of each serving.

I hope you enjoy!! Its very yummy so yummy my husband wanted it 2 days in a row. Last night I made it with Chicken and tonight I made it with Shrimp. I totally forgot to take pictures...sorry.

Let me know if you make it and what you think :)

TBR challenge book 1

I have finally finished my 1st book!! "The Queen of Babble Gets Hitched" What a great book in fact a great series. I am very sad that I finished this series cause it was such a light hearted funny read. There were times I felt happy for Lizzie, embarrassed for her, sad and so many different emotions. I highly recommend The Queen of Babble Series. Thanks to my sister at Tickled Pink (btw check her blog out) for suggesting the series to me. I read the 1st book within 24 hours, the 2nd with in a few day and the 3rd in 3 weeks (cause of school). If you have read these books let me know what you think!

The next book Im going to read is "Water for Elephants" by Sarah Guren. I recently seen previews for the movie to come out sometime in March so I want to make sure I read it before then. If I watch the movie I wont go back and read the book. The characters in my head are way better than the ones in the movie. My sister-in-law Brittney suggested this book.

I love sweets! I can not get enough sweets but I dont eat sweets very often other wise I would be soooo fat. Today I did eat same starburst, the all reds sooo yummy! Anywho my husband eats healthy cause he is trying to get his dream body so we only have one cheat day a week so I ate the starburst in secret lol.

Each night I want dessert after dinner so I found a healthier option, I mean Im sure its not super healthy but it doesnt have all that sugar as cake, cookies and Icecream have. I cut up an apple and dip it in peanut butter, not just any peanut butter!! It has to be Peter Pan honey creamy peanut butter...best thing EVER!! I know peanut butter is higher calories but it doesnt have tons of carbs and no added sugar only natural sugar. Too much carbs is what makes me gain weight so I really try to stay clear of them.

So does anyone have a healthy dessert idea that I could try??

Soooo Im on this huge kick of wanting to save as much money as possible and getting out of our debt. Well last night husband decides to invite a friend from out of town (I love this friend of his). Anywho the plan was to stay home and hang out, I was working, no biggie a few bucks on beer I can handle that. I really have been a tight wade lately lol. I get home and Josh has cooked dinner (It was yummy) and hung the curtains...sweet Im excited right. Well Im finishing up my dinner and Josh looks at me and says, "Babe get ready we are going out." Ok so at this point I couldnt say no cause the boys did put up the curtains thought the house. I get ready and I have a small talk with Josh lets not spend too much money, he replies yes mom. Well I didnt let it bother me but I did explain in more depth that we need to save and that we are on a budget.

We get to the bar we were going to and he ordered a cheap drink...I was so proud of him so I allowed myself one cheap drink since he was behaving. We are having a good time his friend orders a round of shots for themselves (I was driving so I only had the one drink then had 2 hours for it to get out of my system). No biggie we are having fun then last call for any alcohol was made. So husband order maybe 4 drinks and I ordered 1 so our tab would have been only $30 including tip. Well Josh decides to pay for the whole tab. I was not happy about it but I didnt want to look like the bithchy wife so I didnt say anything. The tab ended up being $82 with tip...ugghhh.

I guess today when he wakes up and his friend is not her we will be having a chat. I dont mind if we go out but not when tabs are gonna be that high. I actually feel a lot better after typing this out.

Thanks for reading my rant ;)

Saving Money

Lately I have been OBSESSED with learning new tips to save money. This happened after I realized that my car loan is going down and I want to get it paid off ASAP. I have been looking for blogs with tips to saving money cause its free.

Husband and I have sat down the other night and talked about things we can save money on such as not dining out as much and lowering some of our bills such as cell phone (I did that today). Right now our grocery bill is through the roof because when I cook I go all out and I cook about 5 days a week. I told Josh that Im going to have to learn how to cook on a tighter budget. I also cook way too much food so we waste a lot of food but I am learning cut that back as well.

I am definitely enjoying learning different ways to save money and Im excited to learn more!

If anyone has good websites or blogs that have tips for saving money or even recipes send them to me please.

Date Night

I think a date night is important, it allows a couple to spend quality time together and just let go and have fun. We use date nights to just have fun and sometimes we end up talking about important topics but its mostly just to enjoy each other.

Hubby and I have a date night each week on Sundays. Sundays is also our cheat day to eat whatever we want, we look forward to that day every week! Last night Josh was craving a Zinger Melt from Ale House and I just wanted cheese fries from where ever so we went to Ale House. After dinner we went and saw the movie The Dilemma, we highly recommend it! Josh was laughing so hard he was crying, it was great! Channing Tatum looked so hott in that movie by the way, with all his tattoos(yum).

The movie got over in time for us to hit up cold stone creamery which we do every Sunday!! I have my order perfected I get the chocolate devotion cause Im a huge chocolate fan. Its chocolate ice cream with brownie, chocolate shavings, chocolate chips and chocolate syrup!!! Best thing ever!!! The hubs doesnt have his order perfected yet, he ordered cheese cake ice cream with vanilla cake and oreos. He said it was good but not enough stuff in it so Im sure next Sunday he will try to perfect his order.

No motivation...

All of a sudden I have no motivation to workout. Last week I did really well went to the gym 5 days but then this weekend I got sick. On Monday I just could not muster up the energy to go to the gym so I cleaned the house instead :) I keep telling myself I am never gonna get the body I want unless I stick with the gym.

My hubs is a workout nut so sometimes he pushes me a little too much and it turns me off from working out. That could be the root of the lack of motivation right now. I am happy when husband gives me pointers and such but the other day he was hounding me a little.

My husband isnt like you have to work to lose weight he just wants me to workout to stay healthy and active cause he sees what kind of shape his mom and my mom is in. Speaking of my mom she started Weight watchers several months ago and has lost over 20 pounds. Im so proud of her cause she is so motivated!

I need to find my motivation again any ideas how to do just that???

Spring semester...

Yep thats right classes started today :( I am not ready for winter break to be over with yet but ready or not the semester is here.

Today I got nothing done with school besides reading 2 classes syllabus...I wish my 3rd class was up online already so I could plan the semester.

Every semester I usually procrastinate but this semester I can, I mean I have no time to procrastinate with working full time, 3 classes, gym, taking care of the hubs and taking care of the house = no time for procrastination. If I procrastinate this semester I wont make good grades and its my senior year so all A's is all I want.

I cant wait to graduate!!! I really dislike school, reading so many chapters, writing papers, doing assignments, and taking test just isnt fun anymore...oh wait it was NEVER fun. Finally after summer I will graduate with my BS in Psychology. I cant freaking wait!!!

Oh by the way Im gonna apologize ahead of time cause some of my blogs might end up being nothing but complaining about school so heads up!!

Good luck this semester whoever else is in school!!!!

Food and cooking!!

I absolutely love food and I also love cooking. My hubs is a huge foodie so I am always trying something new so we dont get bored. Tonight I made tilapia with butternut squash...it was so yummy! I dont ever cook with an exact measurement of ingredients, I just kind of wing it and most of the time my dish comes out wonderful.

3 cloves of minced garlic
1 small onion
tilapia filets
grated Parmesan cheese
garlic salt
chili powder
creole seasoning
goat cheese

mix garlic, onion, and EVOO, in a small bowl. Next season the tilapia on both sides with pepper, garlic salt, chili powder and creole seasoning (I season heavy but season how ever you feel is best) Next pour the EVOO mixture on top of tilapia then top with a nice bit of grated parmesan cheese. Put it in the oven at 350 and cook for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes take the tilapia out and top it with goat cheese and put it back in the oven for about 5 more minutes. Take out of the oven and serve it!

1 butternut squash
Cant believe its not butter spray
vanilla extract

Cut squash in half, clean the seeds out and put it face down on a 9 x 13 pan, add some water just about a half inch of water cover and bake it at 350 for an hour. Pull out squash from over and turn over, take a spoon and spoon the soft squash into a bowl. Add about 15 pumps of butter spray and mix it, then add a nice amount of honey and mix. Then add a small amount of vanilla extract and finish stirring then serve.

If anyone has questions just put it under the comment and I will be sure to answer it.

Best Work Out of my life...

Hubs and I recently got memberships to the Y. For the past3 weeks I just stayed on the cardio machines cause I was nervous to take a class without knowing anyone but my loving husband pushed me to take a class. So today I did my first class at the Y and I absolutely LOVED it. The class is called functional training, its a lot like circuit training, as in you do different rounds or circuits of workouts. Our first round of workouts were: 20 squat and press, 15 pushups, 20 lunges,20 deadlifts and 20 situps. We repeated that round of exercises 5 times, then we did balance and core workout 3 times and then abs and core. WOW after that 50 minute workout my legs felt like jello.
Im going to start taking this functional training class on Mon, Wed and Fridays and do cardio on tues and thurs. I feel like Im on the right track to some of my goals for 2011!!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everybody! I can feel 2011 is going to be a great year!! J and I were in Atlanta for the new year which was amazing! We first had tickets to go see Zac Brown Band at the Philips Arena but after we had bought those tickets Florida State accepted the bowl bid to the bowl game which was also held in Atlanta. While J and I were driving up to Atlanta we kept seeing FSU fans driving up and we got excited for the game but we didnt have tickets. After a few hours of discussion we decided we wanted to go to the football game more than we wanted to go to the concert. We ended up finding a scalper to trade tickets with, we got so lucky! Our concert tickets were for 4th row and we ended up trading those tickets for 4th row on the 40 yard line. Only problem was we were on the USC side. Not too big of a deal since we had Florida State fan right next to us and USC fans a pretty cool actually. Florida State Pulled off the bowl game and it was pretty amazing to watch. Intense at times and I got a little worried but they did let us down!!!

After the game we decided o ring in the new year at this bar next to our hotel call Max Lagar. It was def nice to be able to kiss the hubs at midnight unlike last year cause of the deployment. Around 1:30 we went back to the hotel and went to be cause we had a long drive back to FL the next day.

Im happy we got rest for the drive back cause instead of it taking only 6 hours to get back it took us 9 1/2 hours cause there was a major accident on I75 and it took us 2 hours to get 1 mile to get off of that exit and then an hour and a half of detour to get around the accident. What a nightmare, then it poured most of the way home so I was so nervous driving. Oh well it was actually nice to spend so much quality time with my hubs this weekend!!

I hope everyone had a great New Years and hello to my new followers!!

Hi all! This is the beginning of my blogging journey! My blog will mostly be about our (hubby and I) journey through life but I am a very random person so sometimes I might blog about my random thoughts. I am very excited to start this because when J and I are 50 we can read this blog and relive some moments in our life or just laugh all things we have done. I hope you enjoy our journey...
