Happy 1 month Kinslee Grace

I had this scheduled to post but it never did. Kinslee turned one month on June 24th!

Mommy and daddy are so happy to have you in our lives and cannot imagine life without you! Your 1st month in the world we have experienced many first, such as, the 1st time I held you, your 1st poop (I don't think your daddy and I will ever forget that), your 1st bath, your 1st time going to church, your 1st outing, the 1st time you smiled at me, the 1st time you tinkled on me (I thought only boys did that), I could go on forever about your 1st.

Kinslee you are so alert and aware of your surroundings already, I can tell you are going to be super smart! You are starting to smile when mommy kisses your neck or talks to you. You love to poop and pee right after or during your changing (It is super cute but sometimes frustrating). Everybody adores you and everywhere we go strangers love to stare at you and tell us how precious you are.

You are mommy's whole world and I love it. I enjoy every moment of being your mommy!

Your sleeping arrangement ended up being you sleeping on my chest. I did not want to co-sleep because it is dangerous but when we were only getting a hour or two of sleep each night I just gave in to you sleeping on my chest. We both sleep great now and usually have 3 hour stretches of sleep. You only wake up about 2 to 3 times a night. I have to admit that I love you sleeping on my chest because when you are not close to me I miss you. There is nothing better in this world than holding you and playing with you. We bought a carrier to strap you to me but you are still too small to fit in it.

Mommy doesn't get much done around the house but I secretly don't mind because time with you is precious and I know you are going to grow up way too fast. I want to spend as much time as possible with you because there will come a day where you won't want me to hold you.

I can't wait to experience the next month and many many more months with you!

It's Okay to be Thankful Thursday

I'm linking up with Neely, Amber and Tracy for It's Okay to be Thankful Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

Its OK...to not leave the house for days at a time.
...to love the smell of my baby girls wash that I started to use it.
...to always want to hold Kinslee...they say you can't spoil a newborn :)
...to look at other women's babies when we are out and think my little princess
way cuter.
...to put huge bows on my baby's head (the bigger the better)
...to go the cheapest way out to get the computer running again.
...to go to Popeye's just for their biscuits
...to eat a whole bag of sour patch kids in one day

I am thankful for my baby girl, she makes my heart smile.
I am thankful for our new friends Amanda, Brett and their 2 precious little girls.
I am thankful for my wonderful family.
I am thankful for finding a church that we enjoy.
I am thankful for my loving husband.
I am thankful for our dog Seamus, he is so good with Kinslee and protects her.
I am thankful for my husband's jobs even though we are trying to get back to Florida.
I am thankful for our amazing bed, I no longer wake up with back pain :)
I am thankful for my Dr and nurses that took care of me when having Kinslee.
I am thankful for all the blessings God has blessed us with, big and small!

Reality TV

McHunny and I are suckers for reality tv, we can't get enough. Lately we have been watching: (he would kill me if he knew I was telling ya'll about this :))

The Bachelorette

Love in The Wild

So You Think You Can Dance

America's Got Talent

I watch a few other shows but these are the one's we watch together. I haven't watched this much TV since McHunny was deployed but now I have to keep myself entertained somehow. Now that I am a stay at home wife and mommy I have more down time and also always have Kinslee Grace on my boobs. I nicknamed her My little Boobie Monster :)

Does anyone else love reality TV as much as we do? If so which shows do you watch?

Our Baby and Furbaby

One thing McHunny and I were worried about throughout our pregnancy was how our furbaby Seamus was going to handle the new baby. We adopted Seamus over a year ago and he is spoiled rotten. He basically runs the house...he is allowed on the couches and bed but he no longer sleeps with us. We know he was abused by his previous owners but we are not sure to what extent. Our fear was that he would be very jealous of the baby and try to hurt her. Well he has surprised us and loves Kinslee, Seamus is so interested in her and wants to protect her. Any time Kinslee cries he gets up and checks on her, he always wants to be by her and feels the need to just stare at her. We are beyond happy that he is adjusting so well.

If any of you are about to have a baby and have a dog here is what we did to get Seamus ready for the baby.

- we allowed Seamus in the baby's room while we would work in there so he could see what was going on.
- About 5 weeks before Kinslee was due we put the bassinet in our room so he could get use to it being in there.
- About 4 weeks before she was due we put the car seat in the car since Seamus goes in the car often.
- We would play youtube videos of a newborn crying as often as possible.
- I would allow him to lay on my belly...not sure if that did anything for him but I think it did.
- The day she was born McHunny brought home the blanket she was wrapped in so Seamus could get use to Kinslee's scent. My mom said he slept with the blanket.
- Once we came home from the hospital I went in the house 1st and gave Seamus about 5 minutes of one on one attention. Then McHunny brought Kinslee in and we left her in the car seat on the floor, we both sat on the floor next to Kinslee and allowed Seamus to smell her while we praised him. Once Seamus was introduced we gave him a new toy just to show positive reinforcement.

Our Baby Girl is Here!!

18 days ago I was finally holding my baby girl!! McHunny and I are so happy Kinslee Grace is finally here and we are enjoying every second of parenthood. I am not gonna lie being a mommy can be trying at times but it really is so worth it.

Kinslee Grace was born at 1:52 and was 6lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long. She is so perfect!! The above picture was when she was about 10 minutes old. I loved her cute little cone head and thought she was the most beautiful thing I have ever laid my eyes on!!! I look at her all the time and still can't believe that McHunny and I made this precious baby and I get to be her mommy forever!

I was due on Tuesday May 22nd but was induced on May 24th because I was over being pregnant and just wanted to meet our precious Angel. Labor was intense because I was induced and I was progressing very quickly but once I was given the epidural it was a breeze. The contractions hurt worse than me pushing Kinslee Grace out. I have so much respect for women who have their babies natural because I know I could not handle it. I was nervous about the epidural because I have heard some horror stories but my experience was amazing.

My Doctor and all my nurses were amazing, I truly had a great experience overall! When I first checked in my nurse asked if I minded nursing students being in the room and I had no objection. I thank god for the two girls cause they held my legs and were so sweet and encouraging. Since McHunny didn't have to hold my legs he was helping me with my breathing and pushing my back up so I could bare down and push. I truly wish every women could have such a good experience like I did!

I will update more pics and stories of Kinslee Grace but below are some preggo pics since I have yet to post them.

Sunday Social

Sunday Social
Happy Sunday everybody :) I saw this link up by Neely and Ashley and figured this is what I need to get back into blogging. How did you come up with your blog name? My husband and I always say that we are living the dream...you know the American dream...so that is where it comes from :) What is your favorite thing about blogging? Writing about whatever comes to mind and I love reading others blogs. What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now cant live without? Recipes mostly and we all know we can't live without food. Facebook or Twitter? and why? Facebook, I enjoy keeping up with my friends lives and showing off pictures of my baby girl! If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be? Mila Kunis cause I think she is a pretty cool chic. What is something you want people to know about your blog? I am very random and honest. Sad thing is I do not blog nearly as much as I want to but I am really going to try and change that. I recently had a baby so my blog will probably turn into the joys of motherhood but I promise I will post other things too.
